We're outta here!!

Well at least we are in a couple months. December cannot come FAST ENOUGH! We are headed to the beautiful state of North Carolina. I honestly cannot wait. When Romney told me that North Carolina is where he is going to be stationed I couldn't have felt more happy or more peaceful at where our new home is going to be. It is going to be GREAT! I don't think I've ever told anyone this before... (SPOILER ALERT!!!) Jk it's nothing big.. but I have always had a special place in my heart for the Carolinas. Why you ask? Quite frankly I don't have a dang clue. Maybe its because its on the East Coast but also partly in the South, maybe its because thats where the "Tree Hill Ravens" are or maybe because Lee Brice sings about it over there. All I know is, it is a dream come true to be able to move out there with Romney.

Fall has ALWAYS been my favorite season. Apparently it is now everyone else's favorite season too. I could have sworn everyone cursed it when summer was over. And since when did everyone and their dog like football? Honestly. Losers. Its all about post season BASEBALL! (seriously though everyone's freaking status' are about football. I'd like one girl to fully explain the game of football to me. (not really. I ain't got time for that crap)) But this year I can't wait for Fall to be over. Saying that breaks my heart a little, but I'm ready for some great things to happen. So I think Winter will now be my favorite here are a few reasons why:

1. We're moving to NC (obvi)
2. It will be Romney and I's first Anniversary :)-- hopefully he has already started planning it- I've got high expectations
3. I get to quit my job ( no hard feelings eBay)
4. Christmas and New Years are usually a bonus
5. And it's the anniversary of me tearing my ACL. (please refer to ACL posts on ashlyblackburn.blogspot.com -- what a riot!)
6. Boots, boots, and more boots. (ahem, Christmas--Romney--big hint)

(Has anyone noticed that I really like to use (parentheses) I love them. I can always count on them to add in my true feelings) (but seriously) (Also I apologize for my punctuation. I'm pretty accurate that it is not accurate).

Until next time:
Peace & Love

Boot Camp

Sorry ths post isn't going to be so much entertaining as it will be informative. And I'm sorry if I brag about my super hot husband a lot (psych! I'm not sorry one bit!).

As many of you know Romney went to BMT (Basic Military Training, Bootcamp, hell, whatever you wanna call it) a couple months ago. Awful I know! (for both him and I) I've been stuck home babysitting my freaking cute nephew every Monday... I'm totally his favorite aunt too. (such a drag I know ;)) and going to Florida for two weeks then working for two days then going to my Uncle's cabin for a week and just being stuck home with my best friend aka my mom. ( Shout out to her!! Too bad she doesn't even know she got a shout out) I know my life is rough!!! But it actually has been... Turns out when you're madly in love with someone... All you wanna do is be with that person no matter where you are! So in that aspect these past 8 weeks have been the hardest of my entire life.

Florida was so fun! I met my friend April down there and I just so happened to be with her niece and nephew. Uncanny!!! They are funny kids! We went to Disney World, NASA, the Commissioner's house, the gas station and the post office.. all sorts of fun places. I got spoiled because I'm a picky eater and because I'm white. (Candace doesn't count anymore) I think I got a separate meal from everyone else and it was always delicious!! I sure am the favorite, I mean lucky. I think the funniest part of the whole trip was on the plane ride home. So Kaya (April's niece) and I were sitting on the plane back to Utah. She says she might need to go potty, so I tell her to take a nap. And besides she just went potty like an hour ago and seriously this child never needs to go to the bathroom (she must have been on vacation mode or something) so luckily for me she took a nap. She wakes up from her nap about 2 hours later, sits up and looks at me. Asks for a snack and she freaking picks gum to "snack" on. After about 10 minutes she says "ha, I really feel like playing on that iPad". (The iPad I'm watching my movie on that only has 19:28 left in the movie) I just smiled at her. Another 5 minutes go by and she says  "I think I need to go potty" I reply "So do you need to go?" she says "I don't know". Well WTF Kaya I don't know either! So I handed her the iPad and distracted her for the rest of the flight. And to my expertise, it worked. I just really hate asking people to move out of their seat so we can get by. Annoying. When Kaya's mom picked her up I received a text about an hour later saying Thank you. She also said she asked Kaya who her favorite cousin was and she said Ashly! Her mom said Ashly isn't even your cousin and Kaya said I know, but she's still my favorite. Even after I made her hold her pee for 4 hours she still thought I was the coolest! Boo-yah.

While Romney was at bootcamp we got to talk once a week for 15 minutes. I'm pretty sure I needed those 15 minutes a lot more than Romney did. I seriously lived for those 15 minutes and I don't think my phone left my hand for those 57 days. Immediately after talking to him I was relieved!! Just hearing his voice seemed to make everything better.

I have made some great friends through this experience. It's always nice to talk to someone that knows what you're going through. It's also nice to talk to someone who praises you for what you are going through. People always say "I don't know how you do it, I could never do it" and for some reason that would remind me that I could do it. It's tough but I can do it.

Romney graduated from BMT as an honor graduate. There were 661 graduates that weekend. To be an honor graduate you have to be in the top 10%. So of course he was an honor graduate. He's the bom! He did work really hard the past 8 weeks... All those graduates did! But of course I am bias and I know that Romney deserved it. He also looked extremely hot in his uniform. He was easily the hottest one there. Easily.

Romney is now at Tech School, still in Texas and still far away. He will be there until December. All I know is these next 10 weeks better go by a heck of a lot faster then the last 8 did. At least now we can talk every day and I can even go visit him. So it's a much better situation. We still don't know our duty station yet but we are both really, really hoping to go out of the country. Japan would our number one choice. But where ever we get stationed we'll both be excited about it. Unless its Hill Air
Force Base... Then we'll both be extremely pissed.

Anyway... That's the update for now!! The Military life is hard but I sure do love it. I love that my
husband serves in the Air Force and I love supporting him. It's a very special thing :)
